
Susi Kontgis
Served as Sr. Policy & Budget Analyst under 3 mayors for Salt Lake City corporation: Corradini, Anderson & Becker. During her service at the City, she led multi-departmental teams in implementing a $6.5 million telecommunication systems for first responders, multi-agency teams to secure millions in grant funding for an Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI), as well as led a team to pass the bond election of over $100 million to fund the new public safety building and emergency operations center.
In her role as budget analyst, she assisted the SL Airport Authority, Public Services and Public Works departments in presenting their annual budgets to the mayor & city councils each year. As City Economist she provided revenue forecasts and sales projections for sales and use taxes as well as franchise fees. She has vast experience as a project manager and team leader for highly political and sensitive projects. She is able to bring diverse personalities together to work collaboratively to achieve a goal. Projects and budgets, she managed ranged from $3 million to over $100 million. Prior to working for SLC corporation, she worked for the Salt Lake Olympic Bid committee as an administrative assistant and event planner and was part of both official delegations that bid for the 1998 and 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
Susi loves to travel, especially to Greece where she attended college and has family. She has a BS degree in Economics from the University of Utah (UofU), as well as Certificates of Excellence in Management and Project Management from the UofU. She is married and has two sons, Nick and Chris, one daughter, Maria and a granddaughter, Safari.
